    What is Barbie® Signature Membership?

    Barbie® Signature is a membership program with three tiers of membership: Pink Status, Gold Status, and Platinum Status.

    Pink Status, which is a free membership, simply requires that you agree to the Barbie® Signature Membership Agreement and provide a valid e-mail address when registering. You must be at least 18 years old on the day that you join. Pink Status benefits include:

    • 20% off the first order placed after joining the Pink Status level, that you can use in the Barbie® Signature online shop on Barbie® Signature branded merchandise*
    • Access to public and member-exclusive posts on The Barbie® Signature Blog and the Barbie® Signature Gallery, featuring hundreds of dolls and thousands of photos
    • The ability to build your own virtual doll collection and photo gallery in your account
    • E-mail notifications of new product releases, sales and promotions, and other membership update

    Gold Status, with a membership fee of $19.95 (plus any applicable sales tax), includes all of the Pink Status benefits and the following premium features for 12 months from the date you join:

    • Up to $80 in total rewards that you can use in the Barbie® Signature online shop on Barbie® Signature branded merchandise** ($20 per calendar quarter, to be used on orders of $80 or more)
    • Early access to select Barbie® Signature merchandise and sale events
    • Access to the Barbie™ Bulletin Board, which is entirely dedicated/or exclusive only to members to help foster a greater sense of community among members, and includes:
      • “First look” sneak peeks at upcoming dolls, accessories, and lifestyle items
      • Doll customization resources, OOAK tips ‘n tricks, and more
    • Access to members-only content and opportunities to buy member-exclusive merchandise from Barbie® Signature

    Platinum Status, with a membership fee of $34.95 (plus any applicable sales tax), includes all Pink Status benefits and the following premium features for 12 months from the date you join:

    • Up to $120 in total rewards that you can use in the Barbie® Signature online shop on Barbie® Signature branded merchandise** ($30 per calendar quarter, to be used on orders of $100 or more)
    • Gold Status benefits, including:
      • Early access to select Barbie® Signature merchandise and sale events
      • Access to the Barbie™ Bulletin Board
      • Access to members-only content and merchandise from Barbie™ Signature
    • Free Ground Shipping on continental U.S. orders with no minimum purchase***

    Who is eligible for Barbie® Signature Gold or Platinum Status?

    You are eligible for Barbie® Signature Gold or Platinum Status if you are at least 18 years on the date that you purchase your membership and have a valid credit card. (Sorry, no checks or money orders will be accepted).

    Can international collectors join the club?

    Yes, international collectors can join Barbie® Signature. Membership in Barbie® Signature is offered worldwide, except that you are ineligible if you are a resident of Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea or Sudan. However, we only ship physical items to addresses within one of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, territories of the United States or Canada, and the United Kingdom (an "Eligible Shipping Address"). You may at your own cost and risk engage a third-party shipper located at an Eligible Shipping Address to receive and forward physical items shipped by us. For instance, you may ask a friend or family member to let you use their U.S., Canadian, or U.K. shipping address, and they can ship you your of Barbie® Signature merchandise at their own expense.

    I’m an international collector. What name, address, and billing information should I use when joining Barbie® Signature?

    When you join Barbie® Signature, you need to register using your name and credit card information. However, if you would like to have Barbie® Signature merchandise shipped to a third party with an Eligible Shipping Address so that they can forward it to you, when entering your shipping address during the checkout process, you should include your name on the “Ship To:” box, and then on the “In Care Of” line, include the name of the friend/family member/freight forwarder who will ship your dolls to you. Then include that person’s U.S., Canadian, or U.K. address. Please note: Mattel is only responsible for shipping to U.S., Canadian, or U.K. addresses. It’s up to you to make arrangements for the additional shipping required, and you assume all risk of loss for such additional shipping. You will be responsible for all additional shipping fees. You’ll only be charged U.S., Canadian and/or U.K. shipping fees by Mattel.

    How do I join Barbie® Signature?

    In order to join Barbie® Signature you must purchase your Barbie® Signature membership from the Barbie® Signature Shop. You must comply with all of the additional registration requirements to purchase your membership in Barbie® Signature, including providing an Eligible Shipping Address and other contact information.

    When will I receive my membership card?

    Membership cards are only available for Gold and Platinum Status members. As soon as you purchase your Barbie® Signature Gold or Platinum membership you will be granted access to the members-only areas of the Barbie® Signature website. At that time your credit card will be billed (as the service you paid for has been delivered). Your membership card will be shipped to you with the first order you place after joining Gold or Platinum Status.

    Can I purchase more than one membership?

    Yes. Please note that each membership requires a separate email address and unique username.

    What is member-exclusive merchandise?

    From time to time, we may announce that an item for sale at Barbie® Signature will be sold to Barbie® Signature members only. Only active Gold and Platinum tier Barbie® Signature members will have the opportunity to purchase these items from Barbie® Signature. NONE of these items are included with your membership fee, and you are not required to purchase any of them when you join Barbie® Signature. We removed the purchase requirement because we know that collecting is a very personal hobby, and that some members may want to purchase other items vs. getting a specific doll or other item with their membership. Items offered for purchase will be subject to limited availability and valid while supplies last. See details announced with each individual member-exclusive release.

    I’ve seen other websites pre-selling merchandise that Mattel says is memberexclusive merchandise. Does this mean these items aren’t really member exclusives?

    Member-exclusive items will only be sold by Mattel through Barbie® Signature. If other sites are promoting or pre-selling member exclusives, their access will be the same as everyone else, and on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note: some items may be subject to quantity limitations per household or account at our discretion. See individual product pages at the Barbie® Signature online shop for details.

    How long will the membership be valid?

    Gold and Platinum tier membership lasts for 12 months, beginning on the day you join.

    What name will be printed on my membership card (Billing or Shipping)?

    The name associated with the SHIPPING ADDRESS will be printed on the membership card. This is very important because you will need to pay for a replacement card if you supply a name other than the one you want on the card in association with the shipping address (assuming you want a replacement card). Please make sure you specify the name you want printed on the membership card as the name associated with the shipping address. International club members will need to make sure THEIR name is in the “Name” field for the shipping address in order to ensure that their name will be printed on the membership card. The person or company that an international member uses as a freight forwarder should be listed in the “In care of” field of the shipping form.

    Can I get a replacement membership card?

    Yes. Replacement membership cards are available for a fee of $5 for each card from customer service. Collectors residing in the United States and Canada can call 1-800-491-7514 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Central Time to order a card. International collectors can call 608-831-5210 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Central Time. If you believe we made a mistake in the printing of your card, we may consider waiving the fee.

    Can I order by phone or fax?

    You may order by phone or fax for most items in Barbie® Signature. Only online orders will be accepted for memberships and member-exclusive items. You must order via the Barbie® Signature online shop.

    What if you have more members than member-exclusive items to sell?

    Gold and Platinum Status membership is not a guarantee to purchase a member-exclusive item. You are offered the opportunity to buy the member-exclusive items, which will only be made available to active Gold and Platinum tier members, while supplies last.     Can I get a refund if I am not satisfied with my membership?

    No, the membership fee is non-refundable. Please make sure you are comfortable with our Barbie® Signature Membership Agreement BEFORE you purchase a membership.

    Can I get a replacement item if there is something wrong with a member-exclusive item I purchase?

    Unfortunately, no. Due to the fact that each item is limited in number, we do not keep extra inventory to send to people who received damaged merchandise. We will, however, offer refunds (less shipping and handling) to customers who choose to return the damaged merchandise if it is received by us within 30 days of purchase. No exchanges will be made.

    Can I pre-sell an item I am planning to purchase?

    Absolutely not. Due to the fact that pre-sales cause confusion over the actual release date we have decided to expressly prohibit such activity. If you pre-sell an item we have the absolute right to terminate your Barbie® Signature membership with no refund to you.

    Can I be kicked out of Barbie® Signature for any reason?

    Yes. Please make sure you are comfortable with our Barbie® Signature Membership Agreement BEFORE you purchase a membership and READ it so that you understand the circumstances under which your membership can be revoked. Any unauthorized use or reproduction of any materials contained on the Barbie® Signature website or other violations of the Barbie® Signature Member Services Agreement or the Barbie® Signature Membership Agreement will be considered cause to revoke your access permanently from Barbie® Signature member areas, and it is at the sole discretion of Mattel to revoke all access to the Barbie® Signature website. Also, in cases of extreme or repeated misconduct (as determined solely by Mattel) all Barbie® Signature benefits may be revoked without refund, reimbursement, offset or credit to the Barbie® Signature member. The bottom line is that we expect all Barbie® Signature members to follow the rules.

    Why do you make the Bulletin Board available to Gold and Platinum Status members only?

    One of our constant goals is to enhance the personal experience of collecting through Barbie® Signature membership. One of the ways we can do this is by fostering a stronger sense of community among the members, and creating a place that belongs exclusively to them.

    Can I post content from Barbie® Signature on a bulletin board or another website?

    Absolutely not. All content within the Barbie® Signature website, including that which appears on the Barbie Bulletin Board, is the property of Mattel, Inc. and may not for any reason be copied or retransmitted without written permission from Mattel. Please be aware that any instances of content being copied, posted, transferred or the like will result in the cancellation of your membership without any refund. We take these matters seriously as giving away content that others have paid for devalues Barbie® Signature membership for everyone.

    I was a member of the 2016 Barbie™ Fan Club. Do I get to keep my membership number if I renew with Gold or Platinum Status in 2017?

    Yes! You will keep your membership number as long as you renew with Gold or Platinum Status, and do not let your membership lapse. You may also switch between Gold and Platinum tier levels from year to year, and you will still maintain your pre-existing membership number.

    I was a member of the 2016 Barbie™ Fan Club. What happens if I choose not to join Gold or Platinum Status in 2017?

    We’ll be sad to see you go! All 2016 Club members will automatically be placed at Pink Status at the start of Barbie® Signature, and will receive 20% off the first order placed as a Pink Status member.
